Creamy Ranch Dressing

Easy to make and healthier than traditional ranch dressing recipes, this is perfect for a quick, tasty salad during the week or a large family-style get together on the weekend.For a vegetarian or vegan dressing, omit the Worcestershire sauce.

Makes about 1 1/2 cups

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup dairy-free soy mayonnaise (I prefer fat-free)
  • ½ cup plain, unsweetened soy yogurt
  • ½ cup plain soymilk, almond milk or other non-dairy milk alternative
  • 1 T. white wine vinegar
  • 1 T. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 T. honey or agave syrup
  • 1 T. olive oil
  • 1 ½ T. garlic powder
  • ¾ t. dried oregano
  • ¾ t. dried dill weed
  • ½ t. onion powder
  • 2 T. nutritional yeast
  • 3 T. finely chopped fresh chives
  • 3 T. finely chopped fresh parsley
  • ½ T. Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Preparation:

1. In a blender, combine the soy mayonnaise, soy yogurt, non-dairy milk alternative, white wine vinegar, lemon juice, honey, olive oil, garlic powder, dried oregano, dried dill weed, onion powder and nutritional yeast, blending until well combined. Stir in the fresh herbs, Worcestershire sauce (if using), and salt and pepper to taste. Chill for 15 minutes before using.
