Baked Spicy Sweet Potato Fries

These Spicy sweet potatoe fries pair well with Sweet, Sour & Spicy Barbecue or honey mustard.

These savory spuds are a delicious addition to a bistro-style dinner or to a relaxing movie-night meal. Serve them with Sweet, Sour & Spicy Barbecue Sauce, dairy-free sour cream, Dairy Free Cheese Sauce or on their own for a fun snack or side.

Serves 4 to 6

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 large sweet potatoes
  • 2 T. olive oil
  • ½ T. cayenne pepper
  • 2 T. brown sugar
  • Salt, to taste

Preparation:

1. Preheat oven to 400 F. Lightly oil a large baking sheet.

2. Leaving the skins on, cut the potatoes into 1/2"-thick wedges.

3. Toss the potato wedges with the oil, and place on prepared sheet. Bake for about 30 minutes, flipping occassionally. Remove pan from oven and sprinkle wedges with cayenne and brown sugar. Return to oven for 10 minutes more or until fries are lightly browned and sugar has begun to caramelize.

4. Salt to taste and serve with Sweet, Sour & Spicy Barbecue Sauce.
