Almond Milk

Making your own dairy-free almond milk is fun and rewarding.

Although there are many store-bought varieties available, there's just something nice about making your own homemade raw almond milk. Feel free to flavor it as you please with dates, cocoa powder, carob powder or honey.

Makes about 5 cups

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 T. maple syrup
  • 1 t. lemon juice
  • 1/2 t. salt

Preparation:

1. Combine all ingredients in a blender. Pour mixture into a fine mesh bag or cheesecloth over a container, squeezing all of the liquid into the bag. Serve chilled as is or use in dairy-free recipes.

Almond Milk was great, Member ladyjaeh

I tried this and now use it for most of our non dairy needs. It was simple to make and tastes great. You can add a variety of things to flavor it if you want. It makes great chocolate milk. My son who is allergic to all dairy loves it when I make the almond milk. Thank you for sharing this recipe
