Dairy-Free Baking Mixes

While it's always nice to make your own dairy-free baked goods, sometimes it's nice to have a mix around for quick preparation.

Sometimes, even a dairy-free baker like myself runs out of time or needs a break from measuring, sifting and mixing. Below is a list of some of my favorite dairy-free baking mixes for when I'm in a pinch.

All-Purpose Baking Mixes

For days when you're not in the mood to make dairy-free biscuits or other dairy-free baked goods from scratch, these dairy-free baking mixes are always helpful to keep around and can be found in most grocery stores.

  • Hodgson Mill Mult-Purpose Baking Mix

    Cake Mixes

Dairy-free cakes take time, from whipping the soy margarine with the sugar to letting the cakes cool before frosting the cake with dairy-free frosting. Sometimes, however, when I'm in a pinch and need to get the cake in the oven NOW, these dairy-free cake mixes come in handy. Most of these dairy-free cake mixes call for oil, but if a particular variety calls for butter, simply substitute with a dairy-free soy margarine or other dairy-free butter substitute.

Some of these mixes call for butter in their preparation, but substituting with a dairy-free margarine or shortening will still produce delicious dairy-free desserts.
