Egg whites are one of the most accessible and simplest ways to make desserts that are both dairy-free and low in fat, like the beloved angel food cake, yet they're often forgotten or confused as a dairy ingredient. (Although they are not vegan, eggs are not dairy, and if you do not also have allergies to eggs, they are safe to enjoy.)
